Our Australian hemp flour is made using the husks from the seed that still contain part of the seed kernel. The resulting powder provides a texture and fibre to many products and still contains on average 15% protein. Hemp flor is an excellent addition to your baking, adding the benefit of hemp proteins and the excellent fibre content of hemp seed. Hemp flour doesn’t rise because of its high fibre content and lack of gluten, so you cant bake with it alone, however you can mix it with other flours.
For a heavy loaf of bread, use a 1:3 ratio. If you would like hemp flecks in your bread use a 1:7 ratio.
