Our Australian hemp flour is made using the husks from the seed that still contain part of the seed kernel. The resulting powder provides a texture and fibre to many products and still contains on average 15% protein.
How is Hemp Flour Used
Hemp flour is an excellent addition to your baking, adding the benefit of hemp proteins and the excellent fibre content of the hemp seed.
Hemp flour doesn’t rise because of its high fibre content and lack of gluten, so you can’t bake with it alone; however, you can mix it with other flours. For a heavy loaf of bread, use a 3:1 ratio. If you’d like hemp flecks in your bread, a 7:1 ratio will achieve the desired results.
